Ear Discharge

Ear discharge is any fluid that comes out of the ear. Most often, earwax is excreted from the ears. It is an oil that your body produces naturally. The function of earwax is to ensure that dust, bacteria, and other foreign objects do not enter the ear. However, other conditions, such as a ruptured eardrum, can also cause blood or other fluids to leak from the ear. This type of discharge is a sign that your ear is injured or infected and requires medical attention.
